Our supreme spiritual guide, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
Jampel Ngawang Losang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso
While he appears to be just a humble monk, His Holiness is a renowned Buddhist master who has overseen the great task of preserving Tibet's Buddhist tradition in exile and ensured the survival of this wisdom culture beyond the 20th century. He was principally trained in the Gelug lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and continues to teach primarily within that lineage, however he has been a strong advocate of non-sectarianism and has received transmissions from and studied all major traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Having served as a root guru for many generations of modern Gelug practitioners, he is a master of masters in our tradition. All of the centre's teachers consider His Holiness as one of their root gurus. We are honoured that the centre was started with his blessings and named by him. For more information, please visit his official website.

His Holiness gifted our founder with this thangka poster of the Buddha and the seventeen scholars of Nalanda University. He added the name of our centre and his signature to the poster.
